Mark Lawson
Chief Growth Officer
Mark is a sustainability focused executive with close to 20 years of experience dually in North America, and the emerging markets within the carbon markets, sustainable finance and decarbonization sectors. Until recently he was the Chief Growth Officer of Invert, a certified B Corp. and a leading carbon reduction and removal company committed to empowering organizations to take bold climate action.
He was previously an investment banker with Morgan Stanley in New York where he was involved in the execution of over $6 billion worth of mergers and acquisitions, $8 billion worth of debt offerings and $500 million of equity financings across various sectors.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Statistical Sciences from The University of Western Ontario, Canada, and his MBA from The Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, Canada.
A former elite athlete, he was a Co- Captain of the undefeated, University of Western Ontario Mustangs National Championship Football Team, and is an Inductee into the University of Western Ontario Varsity Athletics Wall of Champions. Mr. Lawson was also a 1st round draft pick of the Canadian Football League (CFL) Edmonton Elks, selected 13th overall.
His personal passions include film, as he was an Executive Producer of COLOUR ME, a Documentary which was an Official Selection for the Atlantic, Mexico, and Montreal Film Festivals. Mr. Lawson also established, and serves on the board of the Hugh & Ilene Lawson Charitable Organization (HILCO) which was established with the stated mission of creating expansive, and inclusive educational opportunities for young men and women, that do not have the financial resources to pursue their higher educational aspirations. Mr. Lawson is also a board member and Chair of the Audit Committee for Cybin (CYBN - NYSE American), a breakthrough Phase 3 clinical stage neuropsychiatry company committed to revolutionizing mental healthcare through proprietary drug discovery platforms and innovative delivery systems.
